The NSPCC Tour of Mercia is set to bring the Tour of England experience to the picture-postcard roads of the Peak District National Park this summer.

The Peaks will be the backdrop for the fourth and final event in the NSPCC Tour of England series for 2015, with the two-day NSPCC Tour of Mercia taking in 160 miles of the region's best roads over the weekend of 18-19 July.

Following the format of the first three tours of this summer, riders at the Mercia event will be looked after every pedal stroke of the way, ranging from support vehicles for each seeded speed group, to domestiques to help keep the pace high as the ride snakes its way through the countryside, to soigneurs and mechanics to help refresh both body and bike at the end of a long day in the saddle.

"We wanted to increase the number of events to four for 2015 after the success of our first year and, with Mercia, we have achieved this," explained Ride2Raise Director, Richard King, organisers of the NSPCC Tour of England series.

"Having ridden in the Peak District before I've seen first-hand what a perfect location it is for a cycling event and so we're excited to be able to bring this experience to riders who are up for the challenge."

The event's base will be the 4* Derbyshire Hotel, featuring discounted event rates, where the Yellow Jersey Dinner will be held on the Saturday evening giving the riders some welcome down-time to socialise off the bike. A timed climb and time trial section will also feature over the 160 miles of riding.

Entry is now open for the NSPCC Tour of Mercia. For more information and to sign up, visit the event website at www.tourofengland.co.uk.
