As the weather improves (at least, in theory!) and the days get longer, Manchester is gearing up for the 4th edition of the Great Manchester Cycle. With less than one month to go until the big day the ride is filling up fast, with less than 500 places available on the 52-mile route.

The event promises to be a fun day out for all the family, especially as kids can ride for free. Taking place on the closed roads of Manchester on Sunday 28th June, over 6,000 riders are once again expected to take to the saddle.

A family-friendly policy means children between 8-15 years of age can ride their own bikes for free on the 13 mile route with a paying adult, while children aged between 3-7 years of age can ride with a paying adult in a tag-a-long bike or children's bike trailer or seat. The 2015 Great Manchester Cycle will provide a safe and unrivalled cycling atmosphere for young cyclists of the city.

There are three distances available (13, 26, and 52 miles) and the course will once again feature the popular lap around the districts of Manchester, Trafford and Salford. Cyclists will also have a unique opportunity to ride the iconic stretch of the Mancunian Way - normally off-limits to cyclists.

This year the event will be based at the Etihad Campus, home to Manchester City Football Club, where concessions and family-friendly entertainment will be available providing what organiser promise will be a unique and welcoming atmosphere.

Prices for The Great Manchester Cycle are £22 per entry for the 13-mile route, £25 for the 26-mile, and £30 for the 52-mile ride.
