Event Summary

The Cheddar team who organised the May 2011 Somerset Hills Gran Fondo are excited to announce that we shall be "doing it again" for 2012. The date is Sunday May 6th. Our first Gran Fondo was a great success, not because we had hundreds of riders but because everything ran so smoothly and we did not have one complaint only a few suggestions on how we could improve the day. We have taken the useful comments on board and next year will be even better.

Our Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo incorporate a few flat sections, but it is about maximum output, testing climbs and exciting descents. Both disciplines take in the breathtaking Mendip, Quantock and Exmoor hills. These great rides embody all the comraderie, fun, good cheer and natural beauty that are the heart and soul of cycling. Full support is on offer to all riders with a mix of roving mechanical and medical support, feed zones manned by cheerfull volunteers serving sandwiches, fruit and drinks. All we need to garnish this are enthusiastic energetic paticipants who wish to improve on previous times, challenge themselves, their friends and teammates.
