Herculean Sportive

Event starts in Berneray the most northerly of the Uist islands allowing riders to head South round the Westside of North Uist before heading back towards Lochmaddy and retracing back to Berneray covering 45 miles and 2 islands .

Mor event starts in Berneray heads South round Westside of North Uist and onto Grimsay . Round Grimsay and South to Benbecula . Round Isle of Benbecula retracing to Clachan and turn to Lochmaddy and retrace to Berneray 80 miles and covering 4 islands

Hercules the worlds friendliest bear took 24 days to complete his tour of the Islands when he escaped whilst filming a TV advert , you will do it in a day  if you are up to the challenge . Starting in Berneray before heading to North Uist you will travel to Grimsay and Benbecula with the Herculean Mor  before retracing back to North Uist and onto the Island of Berneray . Herculean Beag riders will cover Berneray and  North Uist ,  on their route . It is hoped riders will go and see Hercules in his resting place at langass woods either before ,during or after the event . It would be nice to have a picture of you with Hercules for our Gallery .Both routes will start and finish at Berneray  Community Hall in  where refreshments hot and cold will be available free of charge for riders following the ride . Camping facilities will be availble in North Uist  and a host of Bunkhouses /B&B and Hotels are available on the islands but prior booking is recommended. Airport transfer can be arranged in advance by contacting organiser.
