Le Col and Team Wiggins have revealed a patriotic redesign for the team's new kit, which Sir Bradley Wiggins describes as his "favourite so far".

Team Wiggins will race in the colourful new jerseys in 2018, bringing to a close their previous partnership with Rapha.

The new jersey strongly reflects the team's British roots, with red and blue panels offset by white sleeves in a design that wouldn't look out of place in a Team GB Olympic kit. Black shorts bear prominent Wiggins and Le Col branding, while bike sponsors Pinarello feature on the sleeves.

The redesign follows Team Wiggins' partnership with British cycling brand Le Col, whose founder, former pro cyclist Yanto Barker, is a friend of Sir Bradley Wiggins. The partnership sees the former team mates reunited, with Sir Bradley providing input as Le Col design and develop a bespoke range of performance clothing for the team.

Le Col say the new design of the Team Wiggins kit is inspired by cycling's heritage: "It is history reimagined for a team that brings together fresh talent with the famous name at the pinnacle of cycling achievement."

That "famous name" is of course Sir Bradley Wiggins, who said, "I'm delighted for Team Wiggins to be working with Le Col. I've known Yanto for a long time and I know how much focus he has brought to creating the very best performance product on the market. As a former pro, I know he just gets it and that's why we all feel that Le Col is the perfect brand for the team.

"The design of this season's Team Wiggins kit is my favourite so far, it's distinctive and stylish, and I am looking forward to seeing the guys racing in it. Working with Le Col's designers has been a case of perfectly matching their performance insight and design expertise with my passion for historical cycling kit."

Meanwhile Yanto Barker said, "Team Wiggins is a brilliant team that helps to develop some of the most talented young riders in the world, something Le Col have invested in and supported since we started in 2011. The team deserve the very best performance apparel, and that's exactly what we will give them. It's a really exciting partnership for us, and working with the team has been a long-term goal for myself."

The new kit is available now for pre-order with April delivery, with jerseys priced £75.
