It's Friday 13th and so, like any self-respecting, superstitious cyclist I've turned my calendar upside down and stayed indoors to nix the hoodoo. To help pass the time I've been checking out the new lookbook from Kalf, who sent a team to Norway on a photoshoot for their autumn/winter collection.

Cowed by cold weather? Not Kalf!
Cowed by cold weather? Not Kalf!

Kalf are a relatively new name in cycling wear, their kit is exclusive to Evans Cycles. The latest collection looks fairly understated - or "classic", if you prefer - but there are some nice little design touches like the reflective 'K' logo on cuffs and calves.

The range comprises a full complement of kit for men and women, including thermal jerseys, bib and waist tights, as well as a number of other cold weather accessories. The idea behind the brand, Kalf say, is "to offer the same level of detailing you would expect from a luxury brand - without the price tag to match."

With winter on the horizon the Kalf Club Thermal Jersey is likely to be of interest. It's a long sleeve mid-layer for cool to colder rides, made from an Italian brushed 'Roubaix' fabric for protection against the cold.

The same Roubaix fabric appears in the Kalf Club Thermal Men's Bib Tights and Women's Waist Tights, which feature iridescent reflective chevrons are on the calves for visibility in low light and a multi-density chamois pad to help you grind out those base miles in comfort.

There's also a tempting array of accessories, including the FIVE° and ZERO° Gloves as well as Kalf Thermal Arm Warmers, Thermal Leg Warmers, Merino Beanie, Merino Neckwarmer and Merino Socks.

We'll hopefully get the chance to try out some of the new range soon. In the meantime, you'll find full details of the collection at kalf.co.uk.
