With Eurobike just around the corner, cycling brands are offering sneak previews of their latest innovations - and one product leak that's caught our attention is the new WK2 women's bib shorts from Canadian brand 7mesh.

"A high-performance bib short that also provides total pit stop convenience has long been an unsolved puzzle," say 7mesh, but after two years of R&D they reckon they've cracked it with the WK2.

Stretchy straps and a yoga-style waistband allow for fuss-free pit stops.

The WK2 may appear visually similar to a normal pair of bib shorts, but the secret sauce is the Pull2P retention system which "combines a supportive yoga-style waistband with easy-stretch bib straps."

The straps are crossed at the back and designed so the shorts can be pulled down for mid-ride pit stops without any unclipping, unzipping, or undressing. "The elegant solution also allows for an airy and breathable design unencumbered by extra fabric - perfect for riding when temperatures climb," according to 7mesh.

Here's a diagram showing how it works:

7mesh's attention to comfort doesn't stop there: the shorts feature raw edge leg hems with printed leg gripper to keep things secure, and use minimal seams to reduce the chance of chaffing.

But do they work? Find out for yourself when the shorts launch, and we'll also try to get a pair in for testing and report back.

For now, we're crossing our legs in anticipation.
