Popular women-only sportive series Macmillan Cycletta will return in 2016 with two UK events. On Sunday 2nd October Tatton Park will host Macmillan Cycletta Cheshire, with routes of 20, 40 and 80km. One week later the stunning Woburn Abbey will be home to Macmillan Cycletta Bedfordshire, where riders can choose from 24, 40 and 70km options. Registration for both events opens today, coinciding with International Women's Day.

Since being launched in 2011 by organisers Human Race Events the Macmillan Cycletta series has held 24 UK events. To celebrate the 25th Macmillan Cycletta this year special pricing has been introduced, with anybody signing up to either event by Tuesday 3rd May getting in for just £25. Those who have ridden in a Macmillan Cycletta previously will be entitled to further reductions to thank them for their support of the series.

The beautiful and historic Tatton Park has been a firm favourite in the Macmillan Cycletta series thanks to the stunning scenery both in the park and surrounding areas. Situated in Knutsford, just 20 miles from Manchester, it's easily accessible by both road, rail and of course bike.

Woburn Abbey Estate complete with fabulous stately home offers a picturesque backdrop for riders, who will have the opportunity to start and finish in its grand surroundings. It's conveniently situated just ten minutes from the M1, just south of Milton Keynes.

The three routes at each event have been designed to encourage women of all abilities to grab their bike and join in. Over 15,000 people have ridden in a Macmillan Cycletta event since 2011.

Human Race Operations Director Kirsty Wilde said "We are delighted that Macmillan Cycletta will return for a sixth year at these two fantastic venues. We are excited to share the stunning routes we have planned with riders, which we believe are as spectacular as you will find for any sportive of a similar distance."

Nicola Jones from Macmillan Cancer Support's Challenge Events Team said "Macmillan are delighted to again be involved in the Cycletta series for 2016. Last year these two events raised over £46,000 helping us to provide vital support to ensure no one has to face cancer alone. We are urging as many ladies as possible to get out on their bikes and join Team Macmillan this year."
