The London Bike Show returns next week, and this year organisers have teamed up with Evans Cycles to host a weekend of the popular Ride It sportives alongside the show.

The sportives will start and finish at the Excel Centre in London's Docklands, giving visitors the chance to make a day of it by joining in with the ride in the morning before spending the rest of the day checking out all the new bikes and kit inside the show.

Evans Cycles are offering a combined Ride It sportive and show entry ticket which is a great saving over the usual ride and show entry, and also includes a London Bike Show goody bag for everyone taking part.

Visiting the show? Why not ride the sportive too.
Visiting the show? Why not ride the sportive too.

The sportives will take place on Saturday and Sunday with start times from 8:00am. There is a single 100km route option, which should give riders a chance to clock up some decent miles and still leave plenty of time to make the most of the Bike Show afterwards which is open until 6pm on Saturday or 5pm on Sunday.

The route starts from the Excel Centre, so there will be some urban roads to negotiate first before heading outside of the M25 and into more rural surroundings around Epping Forest. There's a feed stop at around half distance which will be well stocked with energy products from High 5 as well as plenty of cake and flapjack to top up the energy reserves before returning back into London for the finish.

Once inside the show there are plenty of things to see and do in addition to checking out all the latest kit on the trade stands:

• Visit the Street Velodrome and race head-to-head against the clock and friends

• Watch the Air To The Throne MTB freestyle competition

• Have a go on the pump track and watch the pro's race in the Pump Battle World Series

• Test out some of the latest road, commuter and electric bikes on the 500 metre test track

• Listen to talks in the Cycling Performance with a variety of special guests from the worlds of road cycling and mountain biking

• Pick up the latest bike maintenance tips and tricks in the Workshop Café

• Catch a mountain bike film in The Hot Seat bar

If you're there on Saturday, be sure to check out Sir Chris Hoy's talk in the Cycling Performance Theatre where he will be speaking about what he's been up to since he retired, how he's helping to get more kids on bikes and the development of his HOY Bikes brand available exclusively though Evans Cycles.

If that's not enough to keep you busy, your Bike Show ticket will also give you access to the Triathlon Show: London, The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show and the London International Dive Show which are all taking place at the Excel Centre on the same weekend.
