A brand new 100km route is the latest addition to the Dragon Ride sportive which will return on Sunday 5 June 2016. Based in the spectacular South Wales countryside, the Dragon Ride is one of the UK's most prestigious and challenging sportives.
The Macmillan 100 is expected to be popular with riders making the trip to explore this cycling Mecca for the first time, and joins the returning Medio Fondo, Gran Fondo and Dragon Devil. Anybody who commits to raising £100 for Macmillan Cancer Support will be allowed to guarantee their place in any of the four epic Dragon Ride distances before the rush, with a special entry window from Tuesday 8th September. The remaining places will go on general sale on Monday 14th September at 9am, with capacity expected to be reached quickly.
The Dragon Ride regularly attracts over 6,000 people to Port Talbot, South Wales to take on some of the most spectacular riding in the whole of the UK. A mixture of jaw-dropping scenery and challenging riding has made the Dragon Ride a bucket list event for many riders. The new Macmillan 100 route will offer cyclists a taste of what the Dragon Ride has to offer, and includes the signature climbs of Bwlch and Rhigos.
The new route has been named in conjunction with the Dragon Ride's official charity Macmillan Cancer Support. Riders taking on the Macmillan 100 are encouraged to support this great cause to help improve the lives of those affected by cancer. A minimum fundraising target of £100 or a donation of £50 to Macmillan is suggested when entering this distance, although fundraising is not an entry requirement.

We work all year round to ensure that this ride retains its outstanding reputation, and we are already very excited about what we have planned for June, including the new Macmillan 100 route."
